Senator Iyere Ihenyen

Biography

Senator Iyere Ihenyen is the Intellectual Property (IP) & Information Technology (IT) Consultant at Assizes Lawfirm. He has authored several articles on information technology (IT) and intellectual property (IP). Apart from IT & IP, Senator’s areas of interest include tax, commercial law, and legal policy. A Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Senator handles litigation.

Senator has experience in tax law and regulations. He was a private tax-law researcher and assistant to a former Commissioner of the federal Tax Appeal Tribunal in Nigeria. He prepared several legal opinions on tax disputes involving federal and state tax authorities, and local and multinational companies in the oil & gas sector and other sectors of the economy.

Following his intellectual contributions to information technology, Senator is one of Nigeria’s data and privacy expert contributor for DataGuidance, an international data and privacy compliance network. He is also the founding contributor on information technology and intellectual property on Nigerian Law Today.

Senator is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and Legal Writing Institute (LWI).
